The object of Asteroids is simple: score as many points as possible by destroying asteroids and flying saucers. Use your keyboard's arrow keys to maneuver your spaceship - the left and right arrow keys rotate your ship left and right, the up arrow allows you to thrust forward and the down arrow allows you to teleport - and the space bar to fire. Also, you can hit the Control key to use your rapid spin powerup. Each large asteroid you hit breaks up into smaller asteroids that frequently move faster and are more difficult to hit. Smaller asteroids also score higher points. Periodically the flying saucers will appear. And watch out, because they shoot back at you. Get hit by an asteroid or the saucers' counter-fire and your ship will be destroyed. Lose three ships and it's game over. Destroy all the asteroids to complete each level.
